Eco friendly gifts are becoming more and more popular as people realize they need to change their ways for the good of the environment.  The “green” movement has had a lot to do with this.
Even just a few years ago, you wouldn’t have been able to find the vast selection of eco friendly gifts that are available today.  Whether you’re shopping online or in brick and mortar stores, green gifts are very popular and becoming more and more mainstream as time goes on.

What comes to mind when you think of eco friendly gifts? Maybe bath and body products made with organic ingredients, recycled paper items like journals and notebooks…but did you know that there are actually eco friendly gifts that are made of recycled, upcycled and repurposed materials?

Take for instance the items in my Etsy shop, TinkerAndPo!  Every single one of my shop’s items, whether you’re looking at fingerless gloves, an iPod case or a cup cuff, are made from sweaters!  Yes, sweaters!

I go thrifting for lambswool, merino, angora and cashmere sweaters in good condition, and then I bring them home, felt them in the washing machine, and turn them into lovely eco friendly gifts that anyone would love to receive!

The fingerless gloves are by far the most popular item at TinkerAndPo!  I think the reason for that is because, in this economy, people like to give and receive gifts that actually have a purpose.  All the better that they’re completely environmentally friendly, not to mention soft, warm, sturdy and comfortable!  They’re very popular holiday gifts, and when the end of September rolls around, I’ll be making and sending out more fingerless gloves than I can count!
