Fingerless Gloves – They’re Still Hott!

Fingerless gloves are hott!  There’s just no way around it.  They’ve become a fashion statement as well as a staple accessory for so many women…and men, too!

Fingerless gloves have been around forever.  People used to simply cut the fingers off of regular gloves in order to keep their hands warm, but their fingers free for other tasks.  Today, fingerless gloves are available in every size, color, pattern and material.

I tend to like felted wool fingerless gloves because not only are they warm (and that’s the point, right?) but they are really sturdy as well.  You may think of wool as scratchy and rough, and sheeps wool can be, but the fingerless gloves that I’m talking about are made of lambs wool, merino wool, angora wool, even cashmere! If you’ve ever worn fingerless gloves made from cashmere, you know exactly what I’m talking about!  They are soooooooo soft!

Fingerless gloves
also made excellent gifts!  Hostess gifts, teachers gifts, thank you gifts or the obvious – birthday, mother’s day and Christmas! And the holiday season is quickly approaching…believe it!  It’s warm now, but…you know how fast it can sneak up on you!

The fingerless gloves that I hand-make are created from sweaters that are repurposed into delightful little gifts!  I buy the sweaters, felt them by washing and drying them a few times in the washer and dryer, then cut, sew and finish them!  It’s so much fun to see a sweater re-created into fingerless gloves, iPod cases, or whatever strikes my creativity at the time!

Take a look at my Etsy shop and if you see something you like, better snatch it up!  I can’t make duplicates of what I’ve got because I’m at the mercy of whatever stock my local thrift stores have at any given time.

If I can answer any questions for you about my fingerless gloves, or any of the TinkerAndPo products, please let me know!
